Cara Box

This month was my first month participating in the Cara Box exchange put on my Kaitlyn over at Wifessionals. I just received my first box and am so excited to try out these products!  Thanks to AJ at One Part Joy One Part Circus for the wonderful goodies.

AJ was kind enough to include the following items (left to right):

  • Gilchrist & Soames Body Lotion in Citrus Breeze
  • Blistex Silk & Shine
  • Vaseline Total Moisture Cocoa Radiant Vitalizing Body Gel Oil
  • Victoria’s Secret Kissable Massage Lotion in Berry Passion
  • Sally Hansen Diamond Strength No Chip Nail Color in Love Bug
  • Dove Promises Silky Smooth Almond Dark Chocolate (not pictured because I couldn’t stop myself from opening them at work!)

I can’t wait to use and review these products!  Thanks again, AJ!

I just saw Banana Republic’s tweet about the new Mad Men collection and I couldn’t be more excited!  It’s mod,  fun and in wearable colors for my red hair and fair complexion!  Perfect for spring and summer!  I’ll be hopping on over to the flagship store at lunch to check it all out in person!

It’s no secret that I absolutely love Banana Republic.  They provide good quality clothes at reasonable prices, e appropriate for work but can also transition easily to going out and the weekend.  Even today I’m wearing head-to-toe BR at the office.  This is my first handbag purchase from them and I am not disappointed!

I’ve been on the hunt for a great bag that can transition from purse to overnight bag easily. On one of my most recent trips, I picked up this bag, the Blake Tote in black (Navy shown above).  It retails for $79.50 but I happened to have a coupon for 40% off a full priced item.

What I love about this bag:

  • Multiple interior pockets
  • Three different compartments including one with a zipper (Important for public transit!)
  • Mobile phone bocket and slot pocket
  • Lightweight
  • Big enough to fit my all of my regular purse items, iPad, two days worth of clothing and toiletries
  • Leather straps are comfortable on shoulder for extended periods of time
  • The nylon has stayed clean but I am happy that I can sanitize it with a wipe after setting it down in public, on transit, etc.

This is not a sponsored post… I simply love this bag!

Despite the above picture, my everyday makeup routine takes me less than 10 minutes.  I value my sleep in the morning more than anything so I get ready in 30 minutes.  Shower, dress, makeup, hair and out the door!

One of my favorite things to do with my boyfriend is take a short drive out of the city for the day… Sometimes it’s nice to just escape the hustle and bustle of San Franicsco.

A couple of weekends ago we decided to hop in the car and go for a hike… We ended up in Half Moon Bay and the hike turned into a very scenic walk and lunch. Perfect for a gorgeous day and such a short drive.

Casual Friday....

By default, this is what you will find me in nearly every Friday… While I love this outfit, I’m definitely in a rut. Time to think about casual Friday’s the night before!

Last weekend I headed out of the city to visit my guy for a long weekend.  We had a big night planned to celebrate Valentine’s Day.  Saturday morning I woke up, took a shower and then panicked!  My makeup bag was nowhere to be found.  Not only was I miles from home but I also had a big date night and wanted to look pulled together! Unfortunately, there is no mall or department store in this town so I ended up at CVS for a makeup haul. This is what I ended up with.

Revlon Colorstay Concealer in Fair

Milani Baked Blush in Luminoso (dup of Nars Orgasm!)

I have actually used a few of these products before which was a relief.  When I went to CVS,  Revlon products were actually on sale for Buy 1 get 50% off which certainly influenced my purchases.  I knew I was going to be spending quite a bit of money to purchase everything I needed so I went with products that were on sale and I knew would tide me over for the weekend.  I spent $65 and now have an extra set of makeup that works!  In fact, I’m loving that foundation more than my beloved Smashbox!

What are your favorite drugstore makeup products?

I’m allowed to wear jeans all this month but I just needed a change today. Well fitted pants and high heels always make me feel a little better about myself! I don’t usually wear brighter colors to the office but it felt good to wear some purple today.

I dress up everyday for work so on the weekend I like to switch the heels to flats and the slacks for jeans while still looking put together.  This is what I wore this past weekend for a birthday party and the Superbowl festivities…
